About WBA

A business association built on local relationships.

The Whangamatā Business Association brings local businesses together, runs events for the wider community and speaks up for business on the issues that affect the town.

Our purpose

WBA exists so that people running businesses here have somewhere to turn — for a connection, for information, and for a voice on the decisions that shape Whangamatā.

The Association is run by a volunteer committee elected by its members. Its work spans three things: bringing members together, giving the whole community a reliable place to find local businesses and events, and representing local business interests.

What membership supports

  • Events and programmes that get local businesses in the same room.
  • A member directory the whole community can use to find and contact businesses.
  • A town calendar that is open to clubs, schools and community organisers.
  • Representation for local business on issues affecting Whangamatā.
